A regular meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Youth and Sports was held on May 22.
Idman.Biz reports that a number of issues were discussed and relevant decisions were made at the meeting chaired by Minister Farid Gayibov, according to the agenda.
The report of the "Sports Ambassadors" of 2025 was heard and adopted at the meeting. Also, issues such as the recognition of sports and disciplines spread in the country, granting the status of a republican sports federation to public associations, and adding new sports and disciplines to the activities of federations were considered. According to the decision of the Board, fishing was added to the activities of the Azerbaijan Aquatics Federation, and this sport was recognized as a sport spread in the country.
At the same time, the status of the "Motorcycle Sports Federation" Public Union as a republican sports federation was approved. Also, "Motocross-type motorcycle", "Enduro-type motorcycle", "Sports-type motorcycle", "Highway racing-type motorcycle", "Extreme motorcycle performances", "Quadcross", "Tourist-type motorcycle" and "Moto-tourism", as well as "Amateur motorcycle races" were recognized as sports disciplines spread in the country by the "Motorcycle Sports Federation" Public Union.
