Seven countries and 1659 athletes have already confirmed their arrival in Azerbaijan

Seven countries, including host Azerbaijan, have confirmed their participation in the III CIS Games to be held in 2025. Sport24.az reports that the information was published by Baku City Circuit.

 

Registration of delegations to participate in the Games is currently ongoing. According to the information available today, a total of 1659 athletes from 7 countries representing the CIS region have registered in 23 sports. The total number of registered delegates is 2385.

 

Six countries have confirmed their participation in team sports – football (U-16), basketball 3x3 and volleyball competitions. In individual sports such as wrestling, boxing, judo and taekwondo, more than 100 athletes have registered.

 

It should be noted that in the initial stage, only delegations from CIS countries are registered. In the second stage, registration is carried out for delegations from countries that are not members of the CIS and participate in the Games on the basis of a special invitation. In total, about 5,500 participants from 23 countries of the world are expected to participate in the Games.

 

The III CIS Games will be held on September 28 – October 8, 2025 in seven cities of Azerbaijan – Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol and Khankendi.

 

The III CIS Games will become an embodiment of friendship, unity and sportsmanship among young athletes and will be one of the most prestigious sports events in the region.
