The official opening ceremony of the national archery championship among youth has been held.
Idman.Biz reports that Aydın Mammadov, head of the Olympic and Paralympic sports sector of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, addressed the official part of the event and greeted the participants of the competition.
The sector manager drew attention to the successes of the state policy implemented in the country to develop physical education and sports and ensure the mass character of sports.
A. Mammadov emphasized the role and importance of republican-scale competitions of this kind in revealing the potential of young athletes. Later, Kamran Hasanzadeh, head of the competition organization and work with clubs department of the Azerbaijan Archery Federation, spoke and wished the participants success.
After the official speeches, the classification stage of the competition started. On the first day of the championship, a total of 49 archers in the U-15, U-18 and U-21 age categories took to the shooting line. Athletes performed qualification standards by shooting a total of 72 arrows (36 arrows in each session) from distances of 40, 60 and 70 meters in two sessions. Based on the final results of the intense competition, the participants of the next stages were determined.
The next day will feature 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 semi-final and final stages. The winners will be awarded with relevant diplomas, medals and gifts.
