Norwegian skier Johannes Klæbo has risen to second place in terms of the number of gold medals he has won at the Olympic Games.
"Report" informs that the 29-year-old athlete won the team sprint race together with his compatriot Einar Hedegaard at the XXV Winter Olympic Games currently held in Italy.
This is Klæbo's 10th Olympic "gold" in his career.
He surpassed athletes who have won this award 9 times in terms of the number of gold medals won. These are USSR gymnast Larisa Latynina, American swimmer Katie Ledecky, Finnish athlete Paavo Nurmi, American swimmers Mark Spitz and Caleb Dressel, as well as American athlete Carl Lewis.
Currently, the only athlete in the history of the Olympic Games who has won more gold medals than Klæbo is American swimmer Michael Phelps. Phelps has risen to the highest step of the podium 23 times during his career.
