On the second day of the Judo Grand Prix held in Linz, Austria, our team added two more medals to its tally.
Both medals were won by our judokas in the -81 kg weight category. Vusal Galandarzade won silver, and Omar Rajabli won bronze. Vusal lost in the final match against Adilet Almata (Kazakhstan) due to injury. Omar defeated Eetu Ihanamaki from Finland in the match for third place.
It is worth recalling that Ruslan Pashayev (-66 kg) won the competition the previous day.
With a collection of medals, Azerbaijan ranks third among 59 countries in the overall team standings, and first among men.

Another athlete representing us in the 81 kg weight category, Omar Rajabli, defeated Yahya Nurkovic from Montenegro in the consolation match, earning the chance to fight for a bronze medal.
Earlier, in the ¼ final, Rajabli lost to Adilet Almata from Kazakhstan. Galandarzade defeated Mihajlo Simin from Serbia in the quarter-final stage.

V. Galandarzade will start the competition from the 1/32 final stage. His opponent will be Takahiro Yamashina, representing Japan.
O. Rajabli will join the fight from the 1/16 final stage. He will face the winner of the match between US athlete Yohan Silot and Hungarian representative Benedek Tot.
