The European Judo Cup started today in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani women's team will also compete in the tournament.
On the first day of the tournament, Nargiz Hajiyeva (63 kg), Aytac Gardashkhanli (70 kg), Gunel Hasanli, and Narmin Amirli (both 78 kg) stepped onto the tatami. Only Narmin enjoyed the joy of winning a medal. Amirli won bronze.
Aytac Gardashkhanli was also close to winning a medal. She lost in the consolation match.
It should be noted that teams from 29 countries are participating in the European Cup. Tomorrow, Konul Aliyeva, Leyla Aliyeva (both 48 kg), Gultaj Mammadaliyeva, and Ulviyya Bayramova (both 52 kg) will join the competition.
