The European Cup in rhythmic gymnastics will be held in Baku this week.
Idman.biz reports that 175 athletes from 25 countries will participate in the competition.
European Gymnastics (EG) shared its expectations from the tournament: "We are looking forward to the brilliant performances of Olympic medalist Sofia Raffaeli and other Italian Tara Dragas, Ukrainians Taisia Onofriychuk and Polina Karika, Israelis Daniela Muniz and Lian Rona, Hungarians Fanni Pigniczki and Hanna Panna Vizner, Romanian Amalia Lica, Bulgarian Dara Malonova and others. The hosts will be represented by Zahra Jafarova and Govhar Ibrahimova.
In the group competition, the Azerbaijani team will compete fiercely with the 2020 Olympic champion Bulgaria, as well as Estonia, Georgia, the bronze medalists of the 2024 Olympic Games, Italy and Ukraine.
An interesting "Cross Battles" all-around for adults and groups will determine the winners. In one-on-one fights, gymnasts will have to go through several stages. There will also be a fairly large cash prize: the winner of the individual "Cross Battles" will receive 6,000 euros, the silver medalist 4,000 euros, and the bronze medalist 2,500 euros. The winning group will also receive 10,000 euros. 6,000 for silver, and 4,000 euros for bronze."
It should be noted that the European Cup in rhythmic gymnastics will be held in Baku on May 1-4.
