Azerbaijan is moving away from the top "ten" at the Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
Idman.biz's employee sent to Germany reports that our team is in 14th place in the overall standings.
This result was made possible thanks to our rhythmic gymnasts who won two gold and one silver medal in group exercises. The team includes Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Agalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamilla Aliyeva and Elizaveta Luzan.
Four more teams – Hong Kong, Taiwan, Czech Republic and Portugal – also have two gold medals each.
In the medal table, Azerbaijan is ahead of Spain, France, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Georgia, Denmark and many other countries.
It should be noted that the USA is currently in first place (28 gold, 20 silver, 24 bronze), China is in second place (19-20-5), and South Korea is in third place (14-7-17).
