The first day of the international gymnastics tournament "AGF Trophy" held in Baku has come to an end.
Idman.Biz reports that gymnasts from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Hungary, as well as athletes with neutral status (AIN), performed in the youth category on the first day of the competition held at the National Gymnastics Arena.
Leyla Mammadzada, one of the Azerbaijani athletes, won a bronze medal in the all-around program.
Our women's and men's teams took third place in the team standings.
Azerbaijan is represented by 16 gymnasts in the tournament.
In the women's competition, Nazanin Teymurova, Deniz Aliyeva, Ayten Mammadova, Khadija Abbaszadeh, Albina Aliyeva, Leyla Mammadzada, Aynaz Majidzada, and Lala Zamanli are fighting for medals.
Among the men, Rasul Ahmadzada, Aydin Alizadeh, Nikita Simonov, Miryusif Ahmadzada, Ilham Salayev, Mahir Salimov, Iskandar Javadzadeh, and Mahammad Rustamzadeh are testing their strength.
The tournament will conclude on May 16.
