Azerbaijani acrobat Aghasif Rahimov has been awarded a special prize at the European Championship held in Luxembourg.
According to Idman.biz, the athlete, who climbed to the highest step of the podium in mixed pairs with Raziya Seyidli, was presented with the "Shooting star" award by European Gymnastics.
Our gymnasts finished the continental championship with 8 medals. In the men's pair, Murad Rafiyev and Daniel Abbasov won silver (all-around, balance, tempo exercises), and the men's group consisting of Seymur Jafarov, Abdulla Al-Mashaykhi, Riad Safarov and Rasul Seyidli won silver (tempo) and bronze (balance) medals. The women's groups consisting of Zahra Rashidova, Nazrin Zeyniyeva, Anahita Bashiri with Diana Mammadova, Safiya Babayeva and Firuza Gasimzade took third places.
It should be noted that for the first time in the history of Azerbaijani acrobatic gymnastics, a women's and men's group climbed the podium at the European Championship.
