Samantha Ritter and Daniel Brikalov, the duo representing Azerbaijan in ice dancing in figure skating, appealed to local fans before the start of the European Championship.
In a video specially prepared for Idman.Biz, the athletes first commented on their performance at the "Sofia Trophy" tournament held in Bulgaria. They scored 171.75 points in that tournament and won a bronze medal.
"We were very happy to win the bronze medal and we are extremely proud to see the Azerbaijani flag raised on the podium as a result of our performance," said Samantha Ritter.
Daniel Brikalov noted that they are currently at the European Championship in Sheffield, Great Britain:
"It is a great honor for us to represent Azerbaijan in the world sports arena. We invite everyone to support us."
Ritter added that she is grateful for the fans' support and hopes that their performance at the European Championship will please the Azerbaijani audience.
It should be noted that the athletes spoke in Azerbaijani both when greeting and saying goodbye to the fans.
