The program for the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 20-24 has been announced.
Idman.biz reports that the individual qualifying competitions will take place on the first two days – August 20 and 21.
At this stage, 18 finalists in the all-around, as well as the 8 strongest gymnasts in performances with individual apparatus, will be determined.
August 22 - the third day of the competition will be remembered with the awarding ceremony in the individual all-around.
On August 23 - on the fourth day, group teams will take to the carpet for the first time. Each group will present two compositions: one with five ribbons, and the other with three balls and two hoops. This competition is not only qualifying for two final stages, but also an opportunity to win medals in the group all-around and team scoring.
On the last day of the competition – August 24, the finals in individual events will be held.
In total, nine sets of medals will be contested at the championship.
Azerbaijan will be represented at the most important competition of the season by one gymnast in the individual program and a group team.
Kamilla Seyidzade will compete in the individual competition, and Laman Alimuradova, Darya Sorokina, Yelizaveta Luzan, Gullu Agalarzade, Kamilla Aliyeva and Sofia Mammadova will compete in the group team.
