Russian figure skater Veronika Zhilina, who decided to compete for Azerbaijan, paid the Russian Figure Skating Federation approximately one million rubles (about 21,283 manats).
Lent.az reports, citing local media, that this amount is considered compensation for her training.
The Russian Figure Skating Federation refused to approve Zhilina's transfer to the Azerbaijani national team. She has already achieved success – she is the winner of the Grand Prix final among juniors in Russia. As a result, the athlete paid for the training costs herself.
