The stage of the Fencing World Cup continues.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani national team, consisting of female sabre fencers, has completed its performance in the stage held in Lima, the capital of Peru.
Our national team, consisting of Palina Kaspiarovich, Sabina Karimova, and Zarifa Huseynova, met with Japan in the 1/8 finals of the team competition. The Asians, who eventually advanced to the final, won with a score of 45:37.
In the matches held for 9-16 places, our national team won against Hong Kong with a score of 45:36 and lost to Spain with a score of 35:45. Our sabre fencers lost to Germany with a score of 38:45 in the match for 11-12 places and finished 12th.
In the individual competition of female sabre fencers, Palina Kaspiarovich advanced to the 1/8 finals. Sabina Karimova and Zarifa Huseynova took place in the top hundred in the tournament with more than 140 participants.
