Azerbaijani karatekas have won 6 medals at the "Chisinau Karate Open Grand Prix" tournament held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.
According to Idman.biz, the press service of the Deaflympics Committee, a total of 16 members of our team, including 6 hearing-impaired karatekas, represented us in the tournament.
Hearing-impaired athletes competing in various weight categories in the "Senior Deaf" category in the tournament with the participation of 287 athletes won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Elnur Gasimzade (67 kg) won gold, Hikmat Agayev (60 kg), Aliakbar Alizade (75 kg) won silver, Shaig Osmanov (75 kg), Sahib Sahibli, Elmin Huseynli (both 84 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that the athletes competed under the leadership of head coach Seymur Khudaverdiyev.
