Musab Mammadtagiyev, the winner of the European Championship, said that it was a successful competition for him: "I went to Spain to win a gold medal and I am glad that I succeeded. First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the federation management and our coaches. Thanks to their trust and efforts, we achieved our goal. More intense competitions await us in the future. Our goal does not change, we will try to wave our flag no matter what competition it is."
Latif Aliyev, the silver medalist of the European Championship, emphasized that there are no weak opponents in the European Championship: "All athletes are at least the best in their country. Therefore, the competition was intense. All members of our team contributed to this victory. Although this is an individual sport, it is impossible to achieve results alone. I am glad that we were able to justify the trust of everyone who believed in us."
Muhammadali Mammadzadeh, the silver medalist of the European Championship, also shared his thoughts on the competition: "I performed on the last day of the competition. My wish was to increase the number of medals. I am happy to be standing here with a medal now. Every athlete's dream is to bring a medal home from the Olympic Games. I understand that we have to work hard for this. But everything depends on us. If there is desire and effort, nothing is impossible."
The head coach of the national team, Makhti Makkaev, thanked the president of the federation, Kamran Nabizadeh, and vice-president Firdovsi Umudov for their comprehensive support: "The management created all the necessary conditions for the team to prepare for the European Championship. Our training camp was held according to plan. Of course, we need to work harder. There is great competition in every weight category. The return of Russian athletes to the competition has further increased this level of competition. From this point of view, taking 3rd place in the team standings is a successful result. Once again, I congratulate all our athletes, coaches and administrative staff."
