The athletics championship of small European countries was held in Monaco today.
Idman.Biz reports that about 300 athletes from 17 countries competed in the competition organized by the Small European States Athletics Association and supported by European Athletics.
Members of our national team were remembered with successful performances at the championship held at the "II Lui" stadium. Lamiya Veliyeva took 2nd place in the 100-meter race with a score of 11.91 seconds.
In the 400-meter race, Ilaha Guliyeva won a bronze medal with a result of 54.64 seconds. With this result, Guliyeva also renewed the Azerbaijan record.
In the shot put, Sakina Hajizade was 3rd with a result of 12.78 meters.
Our team consisting of Lamiya Veliyeva, Ilaha Guliyeva, Safiya Karimova and Farida Rzayeva won bronze medals in the Swedish relay.
