"Performing within native walls gives me extra motivation."
These words were said by Azerbaijani artistic gymnast Leyla Mammadzade, who won a bronze medal at the "AGF Trophy" international tournament held in Baku.
The gymnast, who took third place in the all-around program and in the team competition as part of the national team, said that she was not completely satisfied with her performance.
"I could have performed better. I had small mistakes in some technical elements that I worked on during training. My opponents were strong. Nevertheless, I don't consider the result I achieved to be bad. But my goal was to win a gold medal. I think the tournament was a good experience for me. I will try to eliminate my mistakes in the upcoming competitions," she said in a statement to AZERTAC.
It should be noted that the tournament, in which about 50 gymnasts from 5 countries participate, will end on May 16.
