"I didn't expect to win a medal at the World Cup. But it was an honor for me to be on the podium with world-class gymnasts in Baku."
Idman.biz reports that this was said by Tara Dragas, an artistic gymnast who won a bronze medal in ribbon exercise at the World Cup held in Baku at the end of last week.
The Italian athlete evaluated her first medal in tournaments: "I was depressed at the end of the first day of the qualifying stage. I didn't trust myself. But I thought I had to be ready for anything. As a result, everything changed after training with clubs and ribbons in the all-around. I was able to reach the final during the ribbon exercises. In the decisive stage, my confidence increased and I performed better. I proved that I deserved to be on the podium. This was my first medal, even victory, at the World Cup. I hope this won't be my last success."
