Fidan Gurbanli Misses Medal at World Championship

Azerbaijani athlete Fidan Gurbanli finished fourth at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships among juniors held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Idman.biz reports that she was one step away from a medal in the clubs final.

Fidan had a chance to win a bronze medal. Since Egyptian Farida Bahnas and Polish Kseniya Zizich shared second place, logically the Azerbaijani gymnast could have been in the top "three". However, the bronze medalist's place remained vacant.

Our other gymnast, Azada Atakishiyeva, performed in the hoop final and took eighth place.
