The venue for the European Athletics Youth Championships has been determined.
Idman.biz reports that the decision was made by the European Athletics Council.
In 2027, the city of Bydgoszcz, Poland, will host the European Championships in both the U-20 and U-23 age categories. With the exception of the pandemic period, it will be the first time in history that two continental championships will be held in the same city.
It should be noted that the organization has also added three events to the program of the 2026 continental championship to be held in Birmingham. Race walking will now be held at half-marathon and marathon distances, rather than 20 km and 35 km. In Olympic years, there will only be race walking at the half-marathon distance. In addition, a 4x100m mixed relay race will be held for the first time.
