Two athletes of the "Birlik" Karate Club took first place at the international "Grand Prix" tournament held in Baku with the organization of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation.
Lent.az reports that Ercan Aslan won a gold medal in parakarate (K21 category), and Gulay Orucova (61 kg) won by defeating all her opponents in the competition among athletes under 21.
The athletes achieved this success under the guidance of their personal coach Sanan Jafarov.
About 700 karate fighters from 9 countries participated in the tournament organized at the Border Guard Sports Center.
The main purpose of the "Grand Prix" tournament is to support the development of karate, expand the international exchange of experience among athletes, and increase the competitiveness of Azerbaijani representatives in the international arena.
