Emrah Naghiyev, representing the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, stood out with his successful performance at the national athletics championship held at the Azerbaijan Sports Academy stadium from June 5th to 7th.
According to information provided to the local bureau of "Report" by the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, he won two gold medals by taking first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run.
Thanks to his outstanding results, Emrah Naghiyev has been included in the Azerbaijani national team that will participate in the European Championship to be held in Slovenia on June 24th.
It should be noted that E. Naghiyev is the first Nakhchivan athlete to achieve this success by qualifying for the European Championship.
