The World Fencing Championships start today in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. According to Sport24.az, the Azerbaijani team will be represented in several events of the main tournament of the year.
Sabina Karimova, Leyla Ahmadova and Polina Kaspiarovich will compete in the women's sabre event. They will compete in both individual and team events.
In the men's sabre event, Murad Akbarov, Abbas Huseynov, Saleh Mammadov and Magsud Huseynli will participate in individual and team competitions.
In addition, Ruslan Hasanov will also participate in the prestigious tournament in the épée event.
It should be noted that Anna Bashta, the leader of the women's sabre team, is missing the World Championships due to injury.
