The international tournament "AGF Trophy" has already become traditional. Azerbaijan has been hosting this gymnastics competition since 2020.
Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by Nurlana Mammadzade, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, while talking about the international gymnastics tournament "AGF Trophy", which started today in Baku.
She stated in her statement to AZERTAC that World Cups in Olympic sports have been organized annually in Baku since 2016. Although mainly adults compete in these competitions, holding such tournaments among young people is of great importance for their development.
"Our young gymnasts have the opportunity to test their skills by competing with strong opponents in their home walls. This helps them to better prepare for future prestigious competitions. This year, our gymnasts will compete in both European and World Championships. Tournaments such as the 'AGF Trophy' play an important role for them to gain experience and improve their skills. Such competitions are an important opportunity for athletes to see their shortcomings, analyze and improve their programs," said N. Mammadzade.
It should be noted that the tournament, which started today, will end on May 16. About 50 gymnasts from 5 countries are demonstrating their skills in the competition.
