Uzbek gymnast Oksana Chusovitina won a medal at the age of 50.
Idman.biz reports that she took a place on the podium at the FIG tournament held in Tashkent.
Oksana, who celebrated her 50th birthday yesterday, scored 13.275 points. She was slightly behind Bulgarian Valentina Georgieva, who scored 13.450 points. An Uzbek gymnast also took third place. Shahinabuna Yusufova won the bronze medal with 12.950 points.
It should be noted that Chusovitina defended the honor of the USSR, Germany, and Uzbekistan teams. She is the first athlete to participate in 8 Olympic Games. Oksana is a 3-time world champion and a winner of the European Championship.
