The European Masters Weightlifting Championship is being held in Durrës, Albania.
Idman.biz reports that four of Azerbaijan's veteran athletes, who went to the competition with five athletes, have risen to the podium.
Zulfugar Suleymanov (M40, 67 kg) and Vagif Musadiq (M70, 81 kg) won gold medals in our team. Suleymanov, a silver medalist at the European Championship among adults, also set a new record among masters. He broke the previous record by 1 kg by lifting 137 kg in the clean and jerk.
Our other weightlifters Natig Hasanov (M45, 96 kg) and Eldar Mammadov (M45, 130 kg) rose to the second step of the podium.
It should be noted that our representatives have already completed their performances. Elkhan Suleymanov represents our country as a referee in the championship, which will end on May 10.
