The Azerbaijani national minifootball team aims to win the European Championship held in Slovakia. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by the team's captain, Elvin Alizade.
He shared his thoughts on the victory in the last group stage match against France:
"It was the last game of the group stage. After 2 consecutive victories, the 3rd victory was very important. Because every success further increases motivation. It was possible to win by showing a good game."
E. Alizade also evaluated the Kazakhstan team they will face in the 1/8 finals:
"Kazakhstan, our next opponent, is a familiar team. There have been changes in their squad, new players have arrived. The main goal is to show the game based on the information that will be presented after the opponent is analyzed. Matches with Kazakhstan have always been difficult. In some cases, luck has played a decisive role for them. But this year the preparations are at a higher level and there is development in terms of the squad. We came to the tournament for the championship, and so far everything is in order. I congratulate the Azerbaijani people, fans and families on this success."
It should be reminded that the Azerbaijani team defeated Austria (1:0), Italy (3:0) and France (3:2) in the group stage. The team coached by Elshad Guliyev will face the Kazakhstan national team in the 1/8 finals. (Report)
