Elshad Guliyev, the head coach of the Azerbaijan national minifootball team, evaluated their training camp in Montenegro and Slovakia.
The specialist spoke about the results of the Nations League games they participated in as part of the training camp in an interview with "Report".
He stated that the team showed itself in a good light:
"During the 16-day training camp, our goal was not to win any tournament. We wanted to give all the kids a chance and form the main team. We were trying to identify our weaknesses. I believe we played well. We played two finals, and the kids were able to show themselves well. This is football, you can concede a goal even in the last seconds. I hope you will see a stronger and winning team at the World Championship in Baku."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team participated in two international tournaments during the training camp. The team, which won the competition held in Montenegro, took second place in the Nations League organized in Slovakia.
The World Championship will be held from May 21 to June 1. The opening ceremony of the competition will start on May 21 at 19:00 at the National Gymnastics Arena. Turkish famous singer Aleyna Tilki and People's Artist of Azerbaijan Aygun Kazimova will perform at the opening ceremony.
The Azerbaijan national team will compete with Slovenia, Mauritania and Bahrain in Group A of the World Cup, which will be attended by 32 teams.
