Discussions continue regarding the future of "Red Bull" driver Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 world champion.
İdman.Biz reports that former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher doubts Verstappen's potential move to "Ferrari". He stated that the Dutch driver would have difficulty adapting to the existing system in the Italian team.
According to Schumacher, "Mercedes" might be a more logical option for Verstappen. The German expert stated on the "Backstage Boxengasse" podcast that while many drivers dream of racing for "Ferrari", Verstappen might feel more comfortable with the "Mercedes" environment, the GT3 structure, and the teams working within that system.
"But Max will have to submit to this structure to a certain extent. But he is not one of those. He is used to being a team leader. If he comes alone to this team, which is not working well at the moment, he will not be able to cope with it as a driver," Schumacher emphasized.
Schumacher also noted that Verstappen will not be able to take the key people who have been with him during his successful years at "Red Bull" to another team. This could make his adaptation more difficult in a team with a strong internal structure like "Ferrari".
