Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has been awarded a special prize by Pirelli for his pole position record in the 2025 season.
İdman.Biz reports that the four-time Formula 1 world champion was presented with a large decorative tire as the driver with the most pole positions after the qualifying race for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Verstappen also set the best time in the qualifying session at the Yas Marina circuit.
This result was his eighth pole of the current season. His closest follower, Lando Norris (McLaren), has 7, and the Briton's teammate, Oscar Piastri, has 6 poles. George Russell (Mercedes) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) each have one pole position this season.
In the qualifying race in Abu Dhabi, Verstappen completed the lap with a time of 1:22.207. Norris was 0.201 seconds behind him in second, and Piastri was third. George Russell will also start the race from the second row.
This special tire presented to Verstappen is considered a symbol of his clear dominance in the Saturday qualifying races of the 2025 season.
