"Zira" footballer Jeyhun Nuriyev commented on securing second place in the Misli Premier League this season.
The midfielder of the capital's representative, in an interview with "Report," spoke about the victory over "Turan Tovuz" in the XXXIII round:
"Turan Tovuz" is a team made up of strong players. Thank God, we managed to win. Overall, the season was very difficult. We faced difficult opponents. We suffered during the season and secured second place after a fierce struggle. I think it was an interesting competition. There are still 3 rounds ahead. We want to finish our next matches with a victory".
The midfielder said he believes his team will perform successfully in European cups:
"We can already think about European cups now. Of course, regardless of who the opponents are, we will go to the field to win. Last year we advanced to the play-off stage and achieved a successful result. This time we want to do more. It would be great if we qualified for the league stage. I think we have the experience for this. The squad has already strengthened, and the players know each other well on the field.
It should be noted that "Zira", who defeated "Turan Tovuz" 1:0 on their home field yesterday, has confirmed that they will finish the season in second place.
