England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel has explained the reason for not calling midfielder Cole Palmer to the national team. Sport24.az reports that the expert, speaking to the local press, commented on his decision as follows:
"Palmer didn't have a good season. There is serious competition in his position and Bellingham, Morgan, Eze have played better than him. That's why my choice was in their favor. Palmer fell behind in the competition."
The England national team will compete with Croatia, Ghana and Panama in Group L of the World Championship.
The World Cup, hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, will start on June 11. The England national team will play its first match against Croatia on the 18th.
