England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel commented on the decision to call up Al-Ahli's 30-year-old striker Ivan Toney to the national team for the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that this season, Toney played 49 games in all competitions, scored 42 goals and provided 11 assists.
"I received fantastic reviews from the coach who had Toney as my player. He continues to show fantastic results. He has the quality needed to score goals. Toni can distract attention from other attackers. Ivan has natural feelings in the penalty area and naturally scores the final goal. He performs standard shots well. Of course, Toni is a world-class penalty taker," journalist Craig Hope quoted Tuchel as saying on his X social media page.
