South Africa has qualified for the 2026 World Cup after defeating Rwanda at home in a qualifying match.
Idman.Biz reports that the Group C match held in Mbombela ended with a score of 3:0.
South Africa won Group C with 18 points. This will be their first World Cup since the 2010 World Cup.
Nigeria finished second in Group C with 17 points and could qualify for the play-offs in March 2026. Benin, Lesotho, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe, which finished third to sixth in Group C, will not participate in the 2026 World Cup.
Currently, 23 teams have qualified for the 2026 World Cup: Australia, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, USA, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Canada, Algeria, Japan, Ghana, Cabo Verde, New Zealand, Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan, South Korea, and South Africa.
