Sir Alex Ferguson, the famous Scottish former manager of Manchester United, spoke about Dave Mackay, the former Tottenham player who became famous playing for the Scottish national team. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement to Give me Sport about this:
"Mackay was a fantastic player. Dave is remembered as the bravest footballer and a talented guy in history. He could play in any position."
Dave Mackay was a Scottish footballer and coach, one of the greatest players in British football history. He was born in 1934 and died in 2015. He played as a midfielder. He is considered the most important player of the club's "golden age". Mackay won the double (league + FA Cup) in 1961. In total, he won three English Cups, as well as the Cup Winners' Cup.
It should be noted that Mackay was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame, and a statue of him was erected near the Tynecastle stadium in Scotland.
