Former Brazilian national team striker Robinho has shared details of his life in prison.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, Robinho was sentenced last year to nine years in prison for a gang rape committed in a Milan nightclub in 2013. He is serving his sentence in Tremembe prison, located 150 kilometers from Sao Paulo.
"My diet, my sleep schedule - it's all the same as the other prisoners. I've never eaten different food and I've never been treated differently. When my work shift comes, I do the same thing as all the other prisoners. When we want to play soccer, we are allowed to play on Sundays, during our free time."
I have never received special treatment. Visits are scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays. When my wife doesn't come alone, she comes with my children. Visits and treatment are the same for everyone."
"The lies that are spread about me having a leadership role or psychological problems are unfounded. I have never experienced anything like that and, thank God, I have never taken medication."
"Despite the difficulties of being in a correctional facility, thank God I have always been of sound mind and I do everything that all the prisoners can do," Robinho said.
Robinho is known for his performances for clubs such as Real Madrid (2005-2008), Manchester City (2008-2010) and Milan (2010-2014). He also played 100 games for the Brazilian national team, scoring 28 goals and providing 23 assists.
