British police have arrested a UEFA referee on suspicion of indecent acts against a minor.
Lent.az reports that "The Sun" newspaper reported this.
According to reports, the referee came to the UK to officiate a game. While at the hotel, he touched a teenager without their consent and tried to lure them into his room. The police were informed about the incident by the victim or their friend. The referee was detained upon returning to the hotel in the presence of UEFA representatives. It is reported that after questioning, he was released on bail.
"The Sun" writes that the suspect was on the list of referees selected to work at the upcoming World Cup games. FIFA stated that the referee will not be involved in the competitions during the investigation. UEFA has also temporarily suspended him from his duties.
