Idman.Biz reports that on May 7, a verbal argument between midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni during training escalated into a fight in the locker room. As a result of the fight, the Uruguayan player suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital.
"Real Madrid" Football Club states that our players Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni appeared before the investigating officer today in connection with the events that led to the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against them.
During the hearings, the players stated that they were completely remorseful for what happened and apologized to each other.
They also apologized to the club, their teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans, and both agreed to accept any punishment deemed appropriate by the club.
Taking these circumstances into consideration, "Real Madrid" has decided to impose a financial penalty of 500,000 euros on each player, thereby completing the relevant internal procedures," the statement said.
