"Zira" was closer to victory in the match against the Croatian representative "Hajduk". Sport24.az reports that this was stated by the head coach of "Zira", Rashad Sadiqov, at a press conference after the first match against "Hajduk" in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
He said that they fought against a strong opponent:
"Both teams were eager on the field. We witnessed an interesting match. In the first half, the parties were waiting for mistakes from each other. The opponent made this mistake, and we scored a goal. We also had opportunities to score the second goal, but unfortunately, we could not take advantage of them. I think we were the closest side to victory. This score does not mean anything before the return match. The fate of the pair will be decided in Croatia. We want to win away".
It should be noted that the "Zira" - "Hajduk" match, which took place at the 8th kilometer stadium, ended in a draw - 1:1. The return match between the teams will start on July 31 at 23:00 Baku time at "Polyud Stadium".
