Pep Guardiola, the head coach of the English football club Manchester City, will leave his post this summer.
Idman.Biz reports, citing the club's official website, that the Catalan specialist, who started leading the team in July 2016, will complete his 10-year term with 20 major titles. This indicator makes him the most successful head coach in the history of Manchester City.
Guardiola will not leave the club completely. He will serve as a global ambassador for the City Football Group. In his new role, the specialist will provide technical advice to the group's clubs, participate in special projects and collaborations.
In his farewell message to the club, Guardiola spoke about his Manchester years:
"My first interview when I arrived was with Noel Gallagher. When I left, I thought: "Okay... Noel is here? So it will be interesting."
And what a period we had together! Don't ask me why I'm leaving. There is no reason, but inside I know it's my time. Nothing is eternal. If it were eternal, I would stay here. What will remain forever are the feelings, the people, the memories and my love for Manchester City."
The Catalan specialist said that the character of the city of Manchester also influenced his teams:
"This city is built on hard work. On labor. You see it in the color of the bricks. In people who start work early and leave late. In factories. In trade unions. In music. In the industrial revolution and how it changed the world. I think I started to understand it, and my teams understood it too.

We worked. We suffered. We fought. And we did everything our way. Our way."
"Players, don't forget - every moment, every moment, me, my staff, this club, everything. Everything we have done, we have done for you. And you have simply been magnificent. You don't know it yet, but you are leaving a legacy. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for trusting me. Thank you for pushing me forward. Noel... I was right. It was a lot of fun. I love you all," Guardiola concluded.
