Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne is sure that he will not be able to give up alcohol.
Idman.Biz reports that 58-year-old Gascoigne has defended the honor of Newcastle United, Tottenham and Glasgow Rangers for a long time.
"Jimmy Greaves gave up drinking, but he's Jimmy Greaves. I'm not Jimmy Greaves or George Best. I don't drink because I hate my mother, father, or the public. That's not it. I just do it.
Maybe I'll regret it later. But I don't think about yesterday, I don't think about tomorrow. I only think about today and I live for today.
I haven't changed, I can't change, I don't even know how to do it. I'll probably die like Gazza. But I have nothing to hide. Now the whole country knows what I'm doing.
I drank because I wanted to drink, and then I regretted the consequences. Now when I drink a lot, I don't drink for weeks like before.
Looking back, I think I probably hurt my parents a lot. But you don't think about it. The one you hurt the most is yourself," said the ex-footballer.
Paul Gascoigne, nicknamed "Gazza", played 57 games for the England national team and scored 10 goals.
