Greek club "Panathinaikos" has announced the resignation of head coach Rafael Benitez.
Idman.Biz reports that the Spanish coach took over the team in October 2025.
"Thank you for everything, sir. We wish you success in the future," Panathinaikos said on its X social network account.
At the end of the season, Panathinaikos finished fourth in the Greek league with 52 points. The club was 20 points behind tournament winner AEK Athens.
Benitez is widely known as the manager of Valencia, with whom he won two Spanish league titles and one UEFA Cup. From 2004 to 2010, he managed Liverpool, and under his leadership, they won the UEFA Champions League in the 2004/2005 season.
