Norway started the D&C-2026 with a victory. Sport24.az reports that in a match held at the "Gillette" stadium in Foxborough, California, the Scandinavian team defeated Iraq 4-1.
Erling Haaland scored a double in the first half. Ayman Hussein also scored for the Iraqi team.
In the 76th minute, Leo Østigård, who entered the game, scored the third goal for his team. In extra time, Hussein scored an own goal.
Thanks to this victory, Norway rose to the top of Group I. France is second, and Senegal is third. Iraq is at the bottom.
Note that in the second round, Iraq will face France, and Norway will face Senegal. Both games will be held on June 23.
