Neymar, the forward of the Brazilian football team "Santos", is facing an injury problem on the eve of the World Championship.
Idman.Biz reports that the 34-year-old football player has a slight injury in his right calf. Rodrigo Zogaib, the coordinator of Santos' medical department, stated that Neymar's condition is not serious and the plan is to hand him over to the Brazilian Football Confederation fully ready next week.
According to the information, the player's treatment may take from five to 10 days. For this reason, he is expected to miss Santos' upcoming games.
Neymar suffered the injury in the second half of the match with Coritiba in the Brazilian championship.
The coaching staff of the Brazilian national team is also aware of the situation and is closely monitoring the player's recovery process. CBF wants Neymar to be fully ready before the World Championship.
Chelsea striker Joao Pedro was previously considered one of the main candidates to be included in the World Championship squad. However, the head coach of the Brazilian national team, Carlo Ancelotti, preferred Neymar and other forwards in the final selection. Ancelotti said he regretted that Joao Pedro was left out of the squad and said that he deserved to be on the list with the season he spent in Europe.
Currently, the final decision in the Brazilian national team will depend on Neymar's recovery process. If the 34-year-old football player cannot be fully ready before the World Championship, the option of returning Joao Pedro to the team may be on the agenda.
