Neymar's former agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has revealed how he and the player's father took advantage of PSG's interests to increase his client's salary at Barcelona.
İdman.Biz reports that Neymar played for Barcelona from 2013 to 2017 and for PSG from 2017 to 2023.
"A year before his transfer to PSG, I met with his father and Neymar himself in Ibiza. I also brought PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi with me. I did it secretly; we spent three hours there.
An agreement was reached: Nasser would give Neymar a certain percentage of the revenue from the hotel chain (owned by the French club's owners – ed.), a plane, and a salary twice as high as his Barcelona salary. Neymar was earning 11 million euros at Barcelona, Nasser offered 25 million euros. We wanted 40 million euros.
After taking advantage of this meeting, Neymar's father and I leaked to the French media through L'Équipe that PSG had offered the player 25 million euros per year. Barcelona responded in the same way - they gave him 26 million euros.
It was expected that Neymar would earn 40 million euros a year later, and the Parisians paid 222 million euros for the transfer. This is true. Money solves everything, doesn't it?" - Ribeiro said.
