Football governing bodies in England have decided to no longer hold one-minute silences before matches to commemorate global disasters or events unrelated to football.
Idman.Biz reports that this decision was made based on a mutual agreement between various leagues and federations.
It was stated that the minute of silence will only be observed in cases that directly affect the football community - for example, the death of players, head coaches, legends, or fans.
The purpose of the decision is explained as keeping sporting events away from political or global discussions, as well as preserving the moral value of the minute of silence.
