The "Neftçi" football club has become the record holder for the total amount of monetary fines in the 2025/26 season of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
According to calculations made by Idman.Biz based on the fixed financial sanctions imposed by the Disciplinary Committee of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) from the 1st to the 33rd round of the Premier League, the Baku club paid a total of 165 thousand manats in fines.
It should be noted that only decisions related to the Azerbaijan Premier League were taken into account during the calculations. The Azerbaijan Cup, First and Second Leagues, reserve teams, children's tournaments, warnings, and articles related only to compensation for damages were not included in the calculation.
"Neftçi"'s advantage over the second-place team was quite significant. The Baku representative "outstripped" its closest follower, "Qarabağ", by 76.4 thousand manats. This figure is close to the total amount of fines of several clubs in the lower ranks of the disciplinary rating.
"Sumgayit" completed the top three most undisciplined teams of the national championship with a result of 62.2 thousand manats. The new champion of Azerbaijan, "Sabah", paid 51.5 thousand manats and ranked fifth.
The largest one-time fine package of the season also fell to "Neftçi". After the match "Zira" - "Neftçi" held in the 28th round of the Premier League, the club was fined 26.2 thousand manats. This amount includes sanctions related to exceeding the yellow card limit, receiving a red card by team representatives and a football player, as well as the behavior of fans.
The second highest figure also belongs to "Neftçi" - after the match with "Turan Tovuz" in the 23rd round, the club was fined 23 thousand manats. At that time, the reason for this was an offensive banner and mass offensive expressions from fans.
"Qarabağ" ranks third in the list of the largest fines per game. The Agdam club was fined 20.7 thousand manats after the meeting with "Sabah" in the 22nd round. The main part of the amount was related to the behavior of fans and penalties imposed on representatives of the coaching staff for incidents after the game.
On the other side of the rating are the most disciplined teams of the season. The first "three" of the teams that received the least fines was formed as follows: "Turan Tovuz" - 9.7 thousand manats, "Shamakhi" - 10.3 thousand manats, and "Zira" - 10.9 thousand manats.
Thus, "Neftçi" has become the main disciplinary anti-hero of the season. "Turan Tovuz", on the other hand, was the team that paid the least amount of monetary fines among the 12 clubs of the Premier League.
