Mubariz Mansimov, the president of the defunct "Khazar Lankaran" club, shared a post on his social media account. Sport24.az reports that he stated that today he was visited by the legends of Lankaran, Alim Gurbanov, Zaur Ramazanov, as well as Oktay Abdullayev, one of the people who is very well-known and respected in football.
"Of course, the conversation was mostly about football. We recalled memories of "Khazar-Lankaran". There was a different atmosphere back then. Beautiful matches, a strong team, great struggle… "Khazar-Lankaran" is a club that has left its mark on Azerbaijani football and will always remain in people's memory with fond memories.
I always remember those years well. Coming to Baku to watch those games, experiencing the atmosphere in the stadium, especially seeing the enthusiasm of the team's fans was unforgettable. Fans who were so attached and loyal to their club were truly different.
From here I greet all "Khazar-Lankaran" fans, the footballers who contributed to the club, the coaches and the entire team".
