Jose Mourinho's appointment as head coach of Real Madrid has been postponed until the results of the presidential elections to be held at the club are announced.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that the announcement by Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme of his intention to run for president of the "Royal Club" has suspended all sports plans, including Mourinho's return. The elections will be held on June 7.
According to the information, Riquelme needs to submit documents to gain official candidate status. The deadline for this is today, May 23rd.
However, the information emphasizes that current President Florentino Perez is expected to win the elections, after which Mourinho will be invited back to the team.
Initially, the presentation of the Portuguese specialist at Real Madrid was planned for Sunday (May 24) or Monday (May 25).
